On January 31, 2020, the Trump administration announced a temporary ban on foreign nationals entering the United States who have visited China in the last two weeks.
In addition, any U.S. citizen who has been in the Hubei Province within the last two weeks will be required to undergo a mandatory quarantine upon attempting to reenter the United States.
U.S. citizens who have traveled more generally in mainland China will undergo screening at CBP ports of entry and may require 14 days of “self-monitoring.”
The ban is effective at 5:00 pm (ET) on Sunday, February 2, 2020.
Due to the coronavirus, the U.S. Consulate in Guangzhou is canceling immigrant visa appointments the week of February 3, 2020. The post did not indicate a time at which services would resume.
