Melanie Ong is a senior business immigration attorney with extensive experience working closely with entrepreneurs, large employers and foreign investors to ensure compliance with U.S. immigration laws and regulations.

Melanie advises clients on the best programs to fit their specific needs. She represents entrepreneurs, corporations, and individuals in various sectors on immigration matters. Melanie focuses her practice on non-immigrant visa petitions including visas for treaty traders and investors, intracompany transferees, extraordinary ability individuals, foreign exchange interns and trainees, and business professionals. For the immigrant visa category, she focuses on petitions for multinational managers, executives and extraordinary ability applications.

Melanie has worked with several boutique immigration law firms in San Francisco. She was the supervising attorney for the South Bay branch of one former employer. Her role involved managing attorneys and paralegals to ensure 98% case approval annually for high volume caseloads involving employment-based and student temporary visas, family and employment based permanent resident petitions, and naturalization.

During law school, she served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Julie Tang of the San Francisco Superior Court. She also volunteered at the Family Law Self-Help Center at the San Francisco Superior Court.

Melanie received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Davis and her J.D. from Golden Gate University School of Law in San Francisco, California. She is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and the California bar.
